Abstract
Purpose:We report a rarest case of primary conjunctival angiosarcoma masquerade as recurrent pterygium. Methods: A 55-year-old male was operated thrice for right eye pterygium and referred to us. O/E: A diffuse flashy sub-conjunctival mass of size 3 X 2 X1.5 cm involving temporal conjunctiva upto limbus. The epibulbar conjunctival vessels were injected and a chemosis was present. Anterior segment was normal except early lental changes. We operated for recurrent temporal pterygium but Histopathology report was sclerosing haemangioma. Results: Postoperative period was uneventful. After 7 month conjunctival mass recurred become more extensive. Anterior OCT showed sclera infiltration. Map biopsy was done and immunohistochemistry showed angiosarcoma.The patient underwent a right orbital exenteration followed by EBRT. After 3 months follow-up patient is alive.Conclusion: Primary conjunctival Angiosarcoma is rarest ,malignant tumor its diagnosis and management is highly challenging.
