Abstract

Ocular metastasis is relatively uncommon(8%) in a systemic carcinoma.It is usually detected in the choroid(88%)and rarely in iris(9%),ciliary body(2%)or retina(<1%).The management and prognosis depends on the patient’s age,number of lesions, location and nature of primary.Here we report a case of 35 year old female known case of previously treated carcinoma breast with complaints of painless defective vision in the right eye since 10 days.Vision was 3/60 in the right eye which had a large exudative detachment in the inferotemporal retina involving macula.Left eye had 6/6 vision but had vascularised tumor nodules arising from iris and dome shaped mass in the superonasal retina. Bscan detected a solid tumour with surrounding exudative detachment in right inferotemporal retina and a solid tumour in superonasal retina of left eye.She was diagnosed as uveal tissue metastasis with lung involvement secondary to carcinoma breast. She was started on chemotherapy and is on regular follow up.
