Abstract

To report a case of mucinous adenocarcinoma in upperlid which is a rare finding with coincidental OSSN in same eye.

A 37year old male with fleshy growth in RE since 4 years and RE upperlid mass since 6 months.BE vision is 6/24 with pinhole 6/12. On examination a lesion of 2×1 cm firm in consistency,irregular margin,and rough borders, involving the lid margin from centre of upperlid to lateral canthus.RE conjunctiva had fleshy lesion encroaching cornea with feeder vessels s/o OSSN

PROCEDURE Incisional biopsy from upper lid mass was done f/b OSSN excision + AMG. After HPE report which showed mucinous adenocarcinoma, patient was investigated and primary malignancy ruled out. Patient underwent wide local excision ,lid reconstruction after taking thin graft from other eye and preauricular area

CONCLUSION: Upperlid is a rare site for mucinous adenocarcinoma for which successful surgical intervention was done achieving adequate margin clearance, good cosmetic outcome and patient satisfaction.
