Abstract

Purpose: Müller’s-muscle-conjunctival-resection (MMCR) changes in patients with mild ptosis.

Methods: . Case series of 25 patients who underwent MMCR between 2020- 2022 . Patient data included demographics, visual-acuity, eyelid parameters before and 1 month after the surgery. Pre & post-operative frontal photographs of the patient’s eyes in primary position were taken respectively . The MRD1 , palpebral fissure height and LPS action were evaluated and compared.Results: 25 patients underwent MMCR during the study period. The changes in MRD1 and PFH after MMCR compared to preoperative values were significantly higher and noteworthy.Conclusions: The upper eyelid position was altered well , there was no significant scar and the eyelid contour was well maintained in all the patients that underwent MMCR surgery . The sparing of the tarsus and preservation of the Meibomian glands were added benefits, that make MMCR the idealistic approach to a patient with mild ptosis.
