Abstract
1. Purpose:
Describe a novel modification of Emulsion polymer Isocyanate-gluing using anterior lens capsule as scaffold in the management of corneal perforations.
2. Design:
Five Eyes with non-infectious, non-traumatic sterile corneal perforation with size ≤3 mm recruited in this study. Anterior lens capsule obtained from the older patients (Age>65 years) undergoing routine femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery.
3. Results:
None of the patients had cyanoacrylate glue associated uveitis in the immediate post operative period. All five patients had successful anterior chamber formation at the end of 3 months follow up. Anterior capsule seen as hyperreflective layer on anterior segment optical coherence tomography
4. Conclusion:
Biological Drape with cyanoacrylate glue application is a safe effective modified technique to manage corneal emergency which can be easily learned and performed by novice surgeons
