Abstract
In cases of partially accommodative esotropia with high AC/A ratio, traditionally, bifocals alongwith surgical correction of residual esotropia have been advocated. However, many a times children are non-compliant to glasses, resulting in poor control of ET and loss of stereopsis. Fadenopexy has been a promising alternative for correcting near deviation in cases with high AC/A ratio. Aim of this study was to evaluate the result of Faden operation on medial rectus muscle with recession for partially accommodative esotropia associated with high AC/A ratio. We report a case of 3 children with esodeviation at distance alongwith significant increase in esodeviation for near with high AC/A ratio. Patients underwent bimedial recession alongwith fadenopexy. Satisfactory outcome was observed for distance as well as for near in all cases at 1 month, 6 month and final f/u. Therefore, it is an effective surgical option for treating partially accommodative esotropia with high AC/A ratio.
