Abstract

This was an observational study including 919 cases with strabismus across all age groups who had attended the OPD in a tertiary care center from 2019 to 2022.Detailed history taking and thorough examination was done to know the type of strabismus,presence of refractive errors, and amblyopia.Various modes of treatment used for strabismus was studied.All patients underwent detailed ocular and orthoptic evaluation including cycloplegic refraction.Strabismus was objectively measured using Prism cover test.As regards the pattern of strabismus in our study population,majority of cases had exotropia(43.09%),followed by esotropia(36.5%).Inferior oblique overaction was seen in 0.76%.Duane’s retraction syndrome (0.43%), Brown’s syndrome (0.32%),Superior Oblique palsy (0.10%), and Monocular elevation deficit (0.10%) were the lesser common deviations noted.
