Abstract
AIM: To assess the influence of patient-dependent factors on reliability of Humphrey 24-2 visual field analysisMETHODS:372 pts were recruited for the study who underwent Humphrey 24-2. Analysis between reliability indices&age,gender,stages of disease, lenticular status, educational status, visual acuity, time of testing &waiting time.RESULT:We found that young age(<40y64%>60y40% (p= 0.20),male(51%)(F (41.5%)(p=0.009) good education(graduates53% ,school 46%,illiterate38.8%) (p=0.017)clear lens(clear 68.6%IMC 60.6.%)(p=0.041)morning hour scans(morning68% postnoon32%)(p=0.004)early stage of disease(p=0.010) were significantly associated with increased reliability. Long waiting time reduces reliability(<1h54%,>3h24%) (p=0.019).Prior experience (1n51.4% >3n53.6%) (p0.884) & pupil size(<3mm58.15%,>4mm78.3%)(p=0.102 )not significantly associated. CONCLUSION: Although stage of disease is the elephant in the room, other patient related factors affects the reliability of test.
