Abstract
A 15 year old boy presented to us with complaints of pain ,irritation and photophobia in both his eyes. He had had previous episodes of this type in the past. He was diagnosed to have lymphedema in his right leg – the cause of which was still undiagnosed , and was undergoing treatment for the same. His ocular examination revealed distichiasis present in both the eyelids in both eyes, along with punctate epithelial erosions in both the eyes. Manual epilation of the distichiatic eyelashes was performed on the slit-lamp and topical antibiotics were prescribed. Based on the association between congenital distichiasis and lymphedema, we made a diagnosis of Congenital distichiasis lymphedema syndrome. We would like to report this case for its rare occurrence.
