Abstract
Introduction- Covid19 Pandemic has immensely influenced the refractive health of children and young adults along with other ocular issues due to paradigm shift in eye health related behaviour from sun to screen.
Patients and Methods:-In this series, we present 26 cases of myopia surprises comprised of rapid progression of previously stable myopia in 10 cases, onset of myopia in early or late teens in 7 previously emmetropoc patients, breakthrough progression in children previously under control with low strength Atropine therapy in 5 patients and New progression of myopia in young adults above 20 years in 4 patients. All these cases were treated under close follow up with life style changes and with or without initiation/modification of Atropine therapy.
Results:- At the end of 1 year follow up all except 2 remained stable.
Conclusion:-We should keep a close watch on the refractive status of all school children and young adults irrespective of their pre-Pandemic refractive status.
