Abstract
Ocular toxoplasmosis(OT) is the most common cause of retinochoroiditis worldwide.Though,diagnosis of OT is mostly made clinically by the presence of retinochoroiditis lesion,recently a non-invasive photography technique;Fundus Autofluorescence Imaging(FAF) has been enhanced our ability to determine the extent of retinochoroiditis and helps to map the Retinal pigment epithelial damage by detecting lipofuscin in the retina.This prospective observational study was conducted in 13 eyes with active toxoplasma retinochoroiditis.All patients underwent complete ophthalmic examination,color fundus imaging and FAF imaging at baseline visit and subsequent visits up to 12 weeks.FAF images were analyzed using an image software program and the changes happening to FAF at various stages of healing were studied.Results showed a well-defined sequence of changes in FAF during various stages of the diease.Hence,we concluded that FAF can be used as a useful tool of investigation in ocular toxoplasmosis.
