Abstract
The purpose of present study was to observe changes in RNFL thickness and peripapillary VD in preclinical DR patients and relation between these two parameters. This prospective ,observational ,cross-sectional ,hospital based study was conducted with 50 patients (30 preclinical DR patients and 20 normal individuals ) using OCTA imaging technique. History of diabetes ,hypertension, and dyslipidemia was recorded for every patients . 4.5×4.5 mm rectangle scan centered on the optic nerve head was taken with Topcon 3Dspectral domain OCTA with automated software algorithm to measure RNFL thickness and VD. All the data were recorded and analyzed with help of SPSS V 23 (IBM corp.). Both RNFL thickness and VD were significantly lower in superior (p<0.05) and temporal (p<0.05) quadrant in the preclinical DR patients as compared to normal individuals. There was significant positive correlation between RNFL thickness and VD both in superior and temporal peripapillary sectors (p<0.01) .
