Abstract

PURPOSE: To determine treatment CNLDO in age group of 3 months to 6 yrs .

METHOD:A prospective interventional study done on 50 patients with CNLDO within age group 3 months to 6 yrs from September 2020 to April 2022 . The diagnosis was made based on a history of epiphora since birth, or after birth, and positive fluorescein dye disappearance test (FDDT) .Patients with persistent symptoms were considered for endoscopic assisted probing or Dcr with intubation under general anesthesia.

RESULTS: In this study out of 50 patients of CNLDO 33 patients with Cigler massage ,13 patients with endoscopy assisted probing and 7 patients with Dcr with intubation were improved depending upon age of patients .

CONCLUSION- Conservative management like Cigler massage considered to be safest and effective with higher success rate. Patients with no improvement and persistence of symptoms shows positive result with endoscopic assisted probing or Dcr with intubation.
