Abstract

AIMTo detect least SIAby comparing size,shape&location of different MSICS incisions among camp patients.METHOD Comparative analytical hospital basedstudy of300 senile cataractspresenting inOPD in1 yr.They were equally divided into 3 groups(superior,superotemporal&temporal). Among them,50 underwent MSICS+ PCIOL with straight scleral incision &50 frown operated by a single surgeon.Chisquare test used to analyze the least SIA RESULT:The temporal incisionhad leastSIA compared toother two.4th post op week showed 80% of the superior incision patients had ATRA(UCVA > 6/12).

Further(group1) had88 % ATR withstraight incision.Group2 WTRA was 83.6% patients with straight incision &temporal incision, WTRA was85.6% CONCLUSION:MSICSis best alternative in impoverished catract surgeries,greatest hurdle is to minimize preop elderly existing ATRA.Our result clearly suggested that a good self-sealingsuture less temporal frown incision produces the least SIA (p<0.5)
