Abstract

This study was conducted in tertiary care centre

All the patients of chronic dacryocystitis were subjected to dacryocystography in radiology department in ,all 270 patients were studied for unilateral obstruction

Their were 92 males and 178 females in this group

Age group varied from 20 to 73 years

30 patients had bilateral obstruction

19 females and 11 males altogether

Major obstruction occurred at valve of krause in females and valve of hasner could be implicated in males

Obstruction was complete in 236 patients and incomplete in 44 patients

Other diagnosis were sinusitis ,osteomas ,bony fractures, fistulae diverticulum and lacrimal stones

This is a useful test for diagnosing and planning treatment
