Abstract
Giant cell granuloma of the head and neck region are less common benign tumours seen in mandible or maxilla but very rarely in the orbit. They spread locally and aggressively and can lead to orbital compartment syndrome, facial disfigurement and ocular morbidity.
A 35 year male presented with gradual, progressive, painless left upper eyelid mass with no signs of proptosis or diplopia, no history of trauma. Ocular examination was found to be normal. CECT orbit revealed few well defined homogenously enhancing soft tissue density lesion in extraconal and intraconal compartment of left orbit. Patient was treated with wide local excision biopsy with adequate margins. HPE showed peripheral giant cell granuloma with fibro-osseous component. Patient is on follow up.
Conclusion: Peripheral giant cell granuloma of orbit are very rare locally aggressive benign tumours whose definitive treatment is complete resection, so early diagnosis and treatment is important.
