Abstract

We report a rare case where a 25 yr old female,presented with defective field of vision in right eye (temporal side) since 1 week.Patient had undergone squint surgery 10 years back. There was no history of trauma/ headache/vomitting. No systemic illnesses.BCVA in BE 6/6. Colour vision of both eyes were normal.Both eyes anterior and posterior segment examination were normal.Visual fields(HFA 30-2) of both eyes show right sided homonymous hemianopia.MRI shows Left ventrolateral thalamic intra axial space occupying lesion,likely of neoplastic etiology( glial/glial neuronal origin).Patient has been referred to neurosurgeon for further evaluation.HPE report is awaited.Homonymous hemianopia usually is found in elderly due to CVA. Here we a report a young female who had no other symptoms except the field defect.So we must be vigilant in identifying the etiology,leading to an early diagnosis and thus prompt management , which is essential to preserve patient’s vision and life.
