Abstract

Evaluating and managing strabismus especially in a child can be a daunting task for most ophthalmologists. For strabismus, proper evaluation and management is vital in aligning the eyes
and restoring binocularity. Although this appears complex, following a protocoled approach and some basic rules, proper management can be ensured for each condition.
This course focuses on performing an effective eye examination and workup in children with strabismus along with current concepts in management. Case based approach to strabismus is
discussed with useful pearls derived from the vast experience of the instructors. Presentations are rich in clinical photographs, surgical videos and evidence-based algorithms. Audience
participation is encouraged after each presentation. The audience will be encouraged to independently diagnose and evolve management strategies.
At the end of the course, participants would be able to know how to examine a child’s eye, approach a case of strabismus confidently and evolve working management guidelines.
