The domain of glaucoma has primarily included the basic procedures like slit lamp evaluation,HFA,oriental methods of tonometry and management options like the classic AGMs or trabeculectomy.With the advent of newer technologies the world of glaucoma research has been ever evolving.The pathbreaking concepts like AI and Deep Learning Algorithm have recalibrated the way we think about screening and diagnosis.Tenacious efforts of clinicians and researchers have chanalised already available modalities like contact lens and smartphone into gadgets which when used with a database can be a used for tonometry,VFA or screening target risk groups.Newer Shunts and Ab-interno surgeries are going to be the new alternatives because of their efficiency and safety.What was once unthinkable like immunomodulators and vaccines have found new roles now in the management of glaucoma.Through the video we will throw light on these recent advances so that we see”The silent thief of sight” with a new outlook.
