Abstract

A 9 year old male child presented with history of sudden blurring of vision in right eye following blunt trauma since 1 day. On examination, BCVA right eye was 6/9 and left eye 6/6. Anterior segment examination was normal. Fundus examination of right eye revealed yellowish discoloration of macula. OCT macula of right eye showed thickening of outer retinal layers and increased reflectivity of ellipsoid zone. Fundus and OCT macula findings in other eye were normal. Patient was on medical management. On follow up after 12 days ,repeat OCT showed a normal pattern with resolution of the changes. Thus, OCT macula can be a useful tool in diagnosing and grading the ultrastructural changes in macula which can be used in follow up of patients with berlin’s oedema and to predict their visual recovery.
