Abstract
Pathological myopia is a progressive refractive error starts in childhood ,results in high myopia 6 -7 D during early adult life. associated with degenerative change in eye The study was conducted in a tertiary health care centre for a period of 1 year. 61 cases were diagnosed to have pathological myopia. VA ,improvement with pinhole, retinoscopy, AR glass correction, IOP, keratometry OCT Bscan ,Fundoscopy fundus photography taken. M41F20, complains – def vision-61, muscae – 15, night blindness-30, ant seg findings- prominent eyeball 32,large cornea3, deep AC49, large pupil 38, sluggishly reacting pupil 11Magnitude of error 7-10D 42, 11-14D-12, more than 15D 7
Post. Seg findings -OD-Large od 57, pale disc 11, peripapillary – 15, supertractioncrescent 7
Degenerative changes in retina and choroid vitreous were found in most of the cases.
ocular associationsPOAG-3, RP-2 ,family history+20, -31, conclusion–pathological myopia has hereditary and general growth process associated.
