Abstract

A total of 12 cases reported from 18th March 2022 to 19th March 2022 at a tertiary care centre with history of trauma to eye due to Holi colors. They were evaluated, managed and their ocular findings were documented in a pre-prepared format. The mean age of presentation was 25 years with 66% patients being female. Bilateral involvement was seen in 40% cases. 33% patients had significant ocular pain. Most common symptom was irritation in eyes and most common sign was sub-conjunctival hemorrhage. Corneal involvement was seen in 40% cases with typical presentations being SPKs, epithelial loosening and epithelial defect. In no case, involvement was deeper than cornea. All cases healed completely within 2 weeks of presentation. Holi colors are toxic to ocular surface, their spectrum is included in milder grades of ocular chemical burns. Timely management is utmost important to prevent permanent ocular disability.
