Abstract
Aim: To highlight the rare presentation of pseudo disc edema as the primary feature of advanced breast carcinoma.
Materials
A 26yr old female presented to the OPD with blurring of vision in the left eye – 10 days. Fundus examination showed blurring and elevation of the nasal disc margin in left eye with obliteration of cup. Suspecting an optic nerve drusen B scan was done, but the lesion was large and altering the contour of the nerve head.
RESULTS
MRI brain, orbit showed multifocal nodular lesions in left caudate nucleus, right occipital lobe with mass effect over superomedial aspect of left eye. Suspecting secondaries oncology opinion sought and whole body PET revealed Carcinoma of the breast with secondary in the orbit and brain. Patient was taken for whole brain Radiotherapy and is recovering well.
CONCLUSION
This Case aims to highlight the rare presentation of metastasis from breast Ca mimicking an optic disc drusen and being the only presenting feature of advanced breast Ca.
