Abstract
Aim: To report an unusual case of left eye upper lid mass. Method: A 32 year old female came with chief complaints of left eye upper lid swelling since 1 year which was painless and non progressive and was associated with ptosis. She had no history of trauma. The patient underwent detailed ophthalmic examination including visual acuity, refraction, slit lamp, fundus examination, USG B-Scan, CT Scan and Colour Doppler
Result: On ocular examination firm to hard swelling of 4×3 cm was present in superonasal quadrant which was freely mobile, non tender, non pulsatile and no bruits were present. Radiological investigations suggested a vascular lesion. However on excision biopsy mass appeared to be dermoid cyst clinically. Histopathological reports are awaited.
Conclusion: proper preoperative evaluation should be done of every lid mass to prevent untoward occurance.
