Abstract

Traumatic subconjunctival dislocation of PCIOL is an unusual and emergency condition. Here, we report a case of 80-year-old female who presented with alleged history of blunt trauma to her left eye due to fall from cot 6 days ago, after which she started experiencing pain and diminution of vision. She gave a history of small incision cataract surgery with PCIOL implantation in her left eye 2 years ago with good postoperative visual outcome. Her Best Corrected Visual Acuity in left eye was hand movement close to face. On slit lamp examination, in left eye IOL could be seen in superior subconjunctival space, grade 1 hyphema seen in anterior chamber and pupil was drawn upwards; right eye was normal. IOP in right eye was 15 mmHg and in left eye was 7 mmHg. Fundus examination of both eyes was normal. The patient underwent left eye surgical extraction of IOL and was planned for secondary IOL implantation. This case highlights a rare presentation of blunt ocular trauma and its approach.
