Abstract
For distinguishing a case of papilledema from pseudo-papilledema , the clinician utilizes multifaceted approach including history, clinical examination , and ancillary testing. Despite , certain clues that may be present on history and clinical examination, it may still not be possible even for the most experienced clinicians to distinguish the two conditions. Thus, it may necessitate additional clinical testing including : B-Scan, Fluroescein angiography, Fundus Autofluorescence, Enhanced Depth Imaging OCT, MRI, CT Scan to clinch the diagnosis. We present such a case of diagnostic dilemma where the patient with the complaints of headache, transient visual obscuration, 6/9p BCVA, approached various Multidisciplinary Hospitals & Eye Centres to confirm the diagnosis for the clinical findings of unilateral optic disc oedema and absent spontaneous venous pulsations. Clinical correlation & multi imaging modalities approach to arrive at the diagnosis is discussed in detail.
