Abstract

We studied 9 patients with macular circumscribed choroidal hemangiomas who were treated with TTT. Mean logMAR visual acuity pre-intervention was 0.4 in the affected eye. Mean distance of the hemangioma from the optic disc was 114.33 µm and from the fovea was 28.33 µm. Preop mean thickness of the hemangioma on OCT was 2433.33 ± 308.09 µm. Subretinal fluid was present in 5 patients. Mean TTT power delivered was 387.78 ± 17.46 mW with duration of 9000 ms and interval of 50 ms with 48 mean spots given. Mean thickness of the hemangioma after 3 cycles of TTT was 357.33 ± 58.15 µm. We observed a significant reduction in the size of the choroidal hemangioma at 6 months with a significant p value of <0.001. There was also complete resorption of the subretinal fluid as seen on OCT without any change in visual acuity. We conclude that TTT is a safe and effective method in treating small macular circumscribed choroidal hemangiomas.
