Abstract
Introduction: Terson’s syndrome is characterized by intraocular hemorrhage usually associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, or traumatic brain injury.
Case: 41-year-old male, with a recent history of viral meningoencephalitis, confirmed on CSF analysis, presented with headache and vomiting. The vision was 6/6. On examination, the fundus showed papilledema and splinter hemorrhages congruous to Terson-like syndrome.
It is an unusual cause of Terson’s syndrome since it is secondary to viral inflammation. We found only one similar case report in our literature review.
Conclusion: We present this case to highlight the importance of the connection between viral prodromes and Terson’s like picture for ophthalmologists and neurologists.
