Abstract

BYNOCS is a uniquely designed & comprehensive cloud based dichoptic therapy software for binocular vision assessment & therapy. 85 children with anisometropic or ametropic amblyopia & refractive error,aged 4-16 years(mean 8.4 years) underwent BYNOCS therapy at their homes as amblyopia treatment with informed consent after discontinuing patching .Uncorrected & corrected visual acuity with LOGMAR charts and binocular vision test with TNO was measured pre & post BYNOCS therapy.Therapy included 30 sessions of BYNOCS software computer exercises in their home & patients were followed up for average 18 months period.

After the therapy,improvement in stereopsis was statistically significant (p=0.05 by McNemar test). Pre & post therapy corrected vision of 6/9 was observed in 22.5% & 35% patients respectively (p<0.01). BYNOCS allowed visual acuity & stereopsis of children with anisometropic and ametropic amblyopia to be improved in their homes which was maintained through 18 months period.
