Abstract

It was a retrospective study in 70 eyes to analyse the demographics,clinical features,natural course,surgical indications in CXLR.Mean age at presentation was 6.9±3.8 years.Mean followup time was 35.2±30.4 months.Most common phenotype was type 3(77.1%).5 eyes underwent VR surgery,2 eyes underwent laser therapy.Mean central foveal thickness(microns) was 531.96±223.10.Median baseline VA of patients undergoing VR surgery(LogMAR) was 1.8(1.1-2).RRD was the most common cause of surgery in patients with XLRS.Median final VA(LogMAR) was 0.6(0.2-2.0).Median followup time time (months)was 26(0,126).Most frequent VR procedure:Vitrectomy and most common tamponade used:Silicone oil(100%).XLRS has a wide spectrum of presenting features.Family history and screening is important.RRD is a vision threatening complication of XLRS,surgical intervention in the form of vitrectomy or scleral buckle can be performed.Multi-modal imaging like OCT can be an assistive tool.ERG can give varied findings.
