Abstract
INTRO-
ocular trauma in women is commonly due to domestic injury as compared to men.
materials and methods-
25 cases of ocular trauma to women were included in the study.
deep questioning and assurance that info would be confidential was given .
complete ophthalmic evaluation done.
discussion-
domestic abuse, a very common evil that exists in society is often ignored because women are often scared to report the matter as they are not confident of ending their marriage but it does exist and there is a need to pay attention. various levels of severity were noted and some were vision-threatening
results
84 percent of the injury was attributed to domestic abuse by the husband, the remaining injuries were accidental in nature.
conclusion-
ocular trauma in women deserve a more sensitive approach and ruling out domestic abuse is essential to take corrective measures and prevent further abuse
