Abstract
Pituitary adenoma constitutes 6-12% of all intracranial tumour and it is the common cause for Optic chiasmal compression. Intitially, subtle changes in field of vision are difficult to assess clinically.Due to chiasmal compression by pituitary macroadenoma, Retinal nerve fibre layer undergo retrograde degeneration, which is detected by OCT of optic nerve head. Here, we present a case of 14Y/F diagnosed with pituitary macroadenoma and absent secondary sexual character and short stature evaluated in OPD found to have vision BE-6/6,fields BE –Normal, With bitemporal red colour desaturation and OCT of optic nerve head of RE –normal and LE showed inferonasal quadrant thinning .Thus, earlier investigation of OCT of optic nerve head aids in deciding the prompt time for early surgical intervention, also to detect the further progression of RFNL loss.
