Abstract

A 50 year old male presented with pain, redness, watering & swelling of lower lid of left eye. On examination there was scar tissue above upper lid, lower lid granuloma, intense conjunctival congestion, circumcorneal congestion, corneal ulcer of size 6mm X 4mm, pharmacologically dilated pupil. Vision in that eye was reduced to CFCR; IOP 35 mmHg; H/O injury with wooden stick for which he was treated elsewhere & repaired. On eversion of lower lid, a pouting foreign body granuloma was seen. Wooden pieces were removed, granuloma was excised. Proper primary treatment could have prevented corneal decompensation and visual loss.
